World Treasures

If you are looking for an out of this world experience then you must visit the Museum of World Treasures in Kansas. Many tourists have just happened upon this gem of a museum and sung its praises to the point that it is a recommended vacation destination even if you aren't in the area! When you walk in you will be greeted by the skeleton of an albertosaurus and until you leave the museum you won't stop being amazed at all there is to see. One aspect kids love is the castle recreated with monsters and even a dungeon! Some of the other fun aspects include original documents and even pictures from American patriots, European royalty, war, presidents, and more. There are even ancient artifacts on display.

This is perhaps America's most interesting museum not to mention the most exciting. There are 10 dinosaurs on display that were alive once upon a time as well as two royal mummies from Egypt. Other amazng displays include exhibits from many of the US wars including the Revolutionary War, Civil War, both World Wars, Vietnam, Korea, and more. There are even exhibits on Hollywood Stars, the Wild West, musician and sports stars. And, if that is not enough to get your attention, there is also a puppet theater, moon walk, and more for the kids. There is so much to do and see at this museum that every American should take the time to visit and see all that is on display. It truly is impressive and very educational.

Kids under four years old get in free and adult tickets cost $8.95. Senior tickets are $7.95 and kids are $6.95. The museum is open from 10 am until 5 pm Monday through Saturday and from noon to 5 pm on Sunday. This is an amazingly affordable place to visit especially when compared to all that it offers. If you are in Wichita, Kansas, or anywhere nearby then you need to make the effort to visit the Museum of World Treasures. You won't regret it and it might be the most interesting and fun museum you have ever visited. It will certainly be the most educational!

World Tourism

Tanzania is the focus of this short report on the new wave in cultural tourism. Tanzania has something to offer everyone; many attractions have become a magnet for tourists. Kenya seems to running a poor second to Tanzania over the past two years. Tanzania is a peaceful paradise for the tourist, boasting no tribalism and a nation where hospitality is a tradition. Truly the Tanzanian culture is gentle and peace loving; welcoming visitors into their country and homes.

Many claims are made over destinations around the world being safe and friendly; however, I believe Tanzania is unique in Africa in being precisely what is claimed; a peace loving welcoming culture; a jewel in the crown of Africa.

The new wave in cultural tours has begin in Arusha – the north of the country. Here, many tourists want to see more than the animals. The culture and the people are the destination; they are what make Tanzania so special. Not the plastic, dull, staged cultural experience offered in a lukewarm attempt to get more business; but a true experience of life in Tanzania.

The ideal way to experience this is to spend a few days in a Town or village; away from the hotels. To stay in a Tanzania or an Ex-pat home and spend some time getting to know how life works in Tanzania. Many people are starting to do this and then from this home-stay base organizing a safari. To coordinate a safari from Arusha yourself is cheaper, safer and offers more flexibility. More time can be spent in Tanzania and at a relatively low cost.

National Parks

East Africa, which consists of Kenya. Tanzania and Uganda is often considered the cradle of mankind. Its believed by some to be where a species of Homosapiens took tentative steps in an upright position.

The region is a land of many contrasts semi-desert, snow-capped mountains the likes of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya on the Equator, Huge Lakes like Lake Victoria the source of River Nile.

Kenya, East Africa's largest economy is famous for its game viewing and many operators offer varied ways of experiencing this. The Wildebeest migration is one of the most amazing natural spectacles which happens in two game reserves the serengeti of Tanzania and Kenya's masai mara. Game can be seen year round, but migrates in May/June, July/August and again in September/October.

The Serengeti and Masai mara as considered extensions of one another and of all of Kenya's National parks and game reserves, the masai mara is considered as the most favourite and the most popular with tourists.

This park is estimated to have over 140,000 visitors a year. With its rolling grasslands and wide-open savannahs plains, the Masai Mara is the kind of unfettered, sprawling wilderness one would think only existed on Hollywood film sets. But it's real and out there. Described by some as where the land pulses with raw energy and a dazzling array of animals takes centre stage.

World Historical Places

You can find historical heritage sites around the world. These old places weremade by ancient cultures and give us a window into our past. These locations help tell us our history, how we thought, and how our civilization developed. These places give us information about societies that are long since past. There are many historical sites in the world but the four best historic sites are Machu Picchu, Tikal, Angkor Wat, and the Pyramids. Each of these locations, spread out around the world, are the remnants of once vast and powerful cultures.

Machu Picchu- Machu Picchu means “Old Peak” and is located thousands of meters above the ocean. Every year, millions of people venture over the Incan trail to see this ruin. This historic place is located high up in the Andes mountains and was once part of the Incan Empire. Machi Picchu is a world heritage site should be preserved since it is considered to be a sacred place by the locals. Not much is known about the site as it seemed to be abandoned only a few hundred years after use but many theorize it was a summer home for the Incan king.

Tikal- Situated within the Central American jungles, Tikal’s archeology and architecture, flora and thick forests are a popular tourist destination. Tikal is a world heritage site with beautiful temples that give us a peak into the lives of 7th century Mayans. Tikal was one of the biggest city states in the region and was once the most powerful Mayan state. It was lost to the jungle for centuries and has only been excavated over the last few decades. Many of its buildings still remain under the forest. The crowds here don’t come until mid-day so in the mornings, this wonderful place is all yours.
